Ugly Betty & family against Prop 8

The NO on Prop 8 campaign has launched a powerful new television ad in English and Spanish language featuring America Ferrera, Tony Plana and Ana Ortiz, three prominent actors currently starring in the hit television show Ugly Betty. The NO on Prop 8 spot is airing on Spanish language television stations throughout California. "Voting no on Prop 8 is not just about gay rights," said America Ferrera. "It’s about preserving the integrity of equal rights in this country. This is not about being gay or straight, it’s about being American. Vote no on Prop 8." "Family is very important to Latinos," said Tony Plana. "Prop 8 discriminates against families and everything we stand for. I encourage all Californians to vote NO on this divisive and unfair proposition." "Like all Americans, Latinos have family members and friends who are gay and deserve the same rights all of us have," said Ana Ortiz. "Prop 8 would take away those rights and that's why we urge all Californians to vote NO." Watch the 2 videos...

“We are thrilled that these prominent actors are speaking directly to the Latino community,” said Yvette Martinez, the political director of No on 8. “Proponents have targeted the Latino community with advertisements that continue to lie about Prop 8. We’re so proud and so grateful to have America, Tony and Ana stand against discrimination and for fairness and equality.” Visit No On Prop 8.
