The Advocate releases an interview with Patrick Dempsey from ABC Grey’s Anatomy. The actor, who debuted his career playing a gay teen in a San Francisco production of Torch Song Trilogy and played later a gay boyfriend on Will & Grace, was asked if he sometimes gets mistaken for gay: "Sometimes now, yeah. I try not to read the blogs, but it seems everybody’s convinced I’m gay - especially since Versace. But the great thing with sexuality and being gay is that there’s really no stereotype anymore," he says. On the male celebrity he finds sexy, he answers: "Johnny Depp, certainly, without question. There’s just something about his individuality, his humility, and his sense of style. He’s also immensely talented and intelligent, and that’s all very sexy." Read the full interview here... Patrick Dempsey is promoting his new film, Made Of Honor directed by Paul Weiland. The film tells the story of Tom (Patrick Dempsey) and his best friend Hannah (Michelle Monaghan). When Hannah asks Tom to be her "maid" of honor, he reluctantly agrees to fill the role but only so he can attempt to woo Hannah and stop the wedding before it’s too late. Watch a trailer...

George Takei, best known for playing Star Trek's Mr. Sulu and more recently Hiro's father on NBC's Heroes, plans to wed his longtime partner of 21 years Brad Altman, now that the California Supreme Court has overturned a state ban on gay marriage. He stated on his website: "Our California dream is reality. Brad Altman and I can now marry. We are overjoyed! At long last, the barrier to full marriage rights for same-sex couples has been torn down. We are equal with all citizens of our state!... With time, I know the opposition to same sex marriage, too, will be seen as an antique and discreditable part of our history. As U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy remarked on same sex marriage, 'Times can blind us to certain truths and later generations can see that laws once thought necessary and proper, in fact, serve only to oppress.' For now, Brad and I are enjoying the delicious dilemma of deciding where, when, and how we will be married. Marriage equality took a long time, but, like fine wine, its bouquet is simply exquisite."

In Sunday's Brothers & Sisters season finale episode, the Walker family and guests have gathered in the living room to watch Kevin (Matthew Rhys) exchange vows with longtime beau Scotty Wandell (Luke Macfarlane). This is no typical TV wedding. It's a gay commitment ceremony - the first same-sex union on American network TV between series regulars. "It's all very progressive, evolved and about time," says Rhys. "It's a milestone, and I was really quite pleased that I got to be a part of it," echoes Calista Flockhart, who plays Kevin's big sis Kitty. "It would be interesting to go down the adoption route and see from a legal aspect how Kevin would campaign for that," says Rhys, whose character is an attorney. Executive producer Monica Breen assures, "They will be a family. Kevin deserves a stable relationship in the same way that Kitty, Sarah and all the others deserve it. He will be facing many questions in his life — but now he has someone to share that with." Watch a video...

Everyman and Cosmopolitan have worked together for seven consecutive years on the magazines ever-popular Celebrity Naked Centrefold feature. Each June for the past six years, a group of male celebrities are featured naked to help raise awareness of male cancer to the magazines female readers. The feature has proved so popular that Cosmopolitan now runs the centrefold feature throughout the year for Everyman, with a special edition in June. This month, Mitch Hewer who plays gay character Maxxie in British Channel 4's Series Skins (see previous posts) poses naked for the Everyman Campaign.
Everyman's mission is to cross out male cancer by making everyone recognise the tell-tale signs, and understand the importance of treating them. By increasing this awareness Everyman also hope to raise money to fund life-saving research.
