Ellen and Portia tied the knot

"Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were married tonight in an intimate ceremony at their home in Los Angeles," their spokesperson tells PEOPLE exclusively. The intimate ceremony was attended by 19 guests, including DeGeneres's mom Betty and de Rossi's mother Margaret Rogers (who flew in from Australia for the occasion), who witnessed the couple exchange handwritten vows. The couple have been dating since December 2004. Ellen DeGeneres, 50, announced her plans to wed Portia de Rossi, 35, when the state of California ruled in favor of gay marriage in May 2008.

Patrick Dempsey in The Advocate

The Advocate releases an interview with Patrick Dempsey from ABC Grey’s Anatomy. The actor, who debuted his career playing a gay teen in a San Francisco production of Torch Song Trilogy and played later a gay boyfriend on Will & Grace, was asked if he sometimes gets mistaken for gay: "Sometimes now, yeah. I try not to read the blogs, but it seems everybody’s convinced I’m gay - especially since Versace. But the great thing with sexuality and being gay is that there’s really no stereotype anymore," he says. On the male celebrity he finds sexy, he answers: "Johnny Depp, certainly, without question. There’s just something about his individuality, his humility, and his sense of style. He’s also immensely talented and intelligent, and that’s all very sexy." Read the full interview here... Patrick Dempsey is promoting his new film, Made Of Honor directed by Paul Weiland. The film tells the story of Tom (Patrick Dempsey) and his best friend Hannah (Michelle Monaghan). It’s the perfect setup until Hannah goes overseas to Scotland on a six-week business trip and Tom is stunned to realize how empty his life is without her. He resolves that upon her return, he’ll ask Hannah to marry him – but is floored when he learns that she has become engaged to a handsome and wealthy Scotsman and plans to move overseas. When Hannah asks Tom to be her "maid" of honor, he reluctantly agrees to fill the role but only so he can attempt to woo Hannah and stop the wedding before it’s too late. Watch a trailer...

Made of Honor starring Patrick Dempsey, Michelle Monaghan, Kevin McKidd, Kathleen Quinlan, Kadeem Hardison, Busy Philipps, Chris Messina, Richmond Arquette, Sydney Pollack, in theaters now.

Janet Jackson's Interview

Marc Malkin (right picture) had a very interesting interview with Janet Jackson for E! Online. The journalist asked her who she would date if she were gay: "I think I would pick Alicia Keys, for sure. I think she's wonderful." About young gay men who don't see HIV and AIDS as a threat she said: "Yes, they're being a little too - and I am not going to be mild about it - careless. And now there's the whole drug scene with crystal meth... I hear it gives you this high that makes you want to have sex and not use anything. It's scary." About 15-year-old Lawrence King who was murdered in February because he was gay, she commented: "That broke my heart. He was finally coming into his own and being himself and being OK with who he was. He was feeling good about that and not living in this shell and pretending to be someone else. He was letting all of that go and saying, "This is me." But being murdered for being who you are, for being real - we were crushed by that." read the full interview here... Janet will be at the GLAAD 19th Annual Media Awards on Saturday April 26 where Ellen DeGeneres will present her with the Vanguard Award.

Diana's Sons welcome inquest verdict

Princes William and Harry are hoping that 10 years of speculation over the death of their mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, would finally end after a jury decided that she was unlawfully killed. The young royals said they agreed with the jury's verdict that Diana, Princess of Wales died because of gross negligence by both her driver Henri Paul and pursuing paparazzi. Former Metropolitan Police Commissioner Lord Stevens, whose Paget inquiry investigated the conspiracy theories, said he hoped Diana and her lover Dodi Fayed would be allowed to rest in peace. But Dodi's father, Mohamed al Fayed, expressed his disappointment at the verdicts and his spokesman made clear he could still mount a legal challenge. Thanking the jury, William and Harry said in a statement: "We agree with their verdicts, and are both hugely grateful to each and every one of them for the forbearance they have shown in accepting such significant disruption to their lives over the past six months." Janet Jackson to be Honored by GLAAD

Janet Jackson will be honored by The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) with the Vanguard Award at the 19th Annual GLAAD Media Awards on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. The Vanguard Award is presented to media professionals who, through their work, have increased the visibility and understanding of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. Past recipients include Charlize Theron, Antonio Banderas, Eric McCormack, Elizabeth Taylor, Liza Minnelli and Whoopi Goldberg. GLAAD also announced that multiple Emmy® Award-winning talk show host Ellen DeGeneres will present Ms. Jackson with her award. “Ms. Jackson has a tremendous following inside the LGBT community and out, and having her stand with us against the defamation that LGBT people still face in our country is extremely significant," said GLAAD President Neil G. Giuliano. He added, “We are also thrilled that Ellen DeGeneres, a former GLAAD Media Award honoree, will present the Vanguard Award to Ms. Jackson. Any time a media legend like Ms. DeGeneres wants to share in our celebration of fair, accurate and inclusive media representation, we are honored to have her.”
"I have received a number of awards throughout my career but I am so proud to be receiving the Vanguard Award from GLAAD,” said Janet Jackson. “Since it's inception in 1985, GLAAD has taken the lead in making sure that people will no longer be judged by their gender identity or sexual orientation. I applaud them for their continued work and thank them for this honor from the bottom of my heart."

Jay Leno apologizes for Gay remarks

Jay Leno (left picture) apologized for on-air remarks he made last month during an interview with Ryan Phillippe (right picture) that Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) and others criticized. "In talking about Ryan's first role, I realize that what I said came out wrong," Leno said in a statement. "I certainly didn't mean any malice. I agree it was a dumb thing to say, and I apologize." The unfortunate request came because Phillippe, on the show to promote his new film Stop-Loss, got his acting break on One Life to Live playing daytime television’s first gay teen character. Leno riffed on the sexuality of the character, asking Phillippe to reenact his work by giving his "gayest look" to the camera. Phillippe tried to laugh it off, but Leno continued his misguided use of adolescent humor. The visibly flustered actor stood up and jokingly threatened to leave but stayed for the rest of the interview adding, "This may be my last visit." Watch a Stop-Loss trailer...

Stop-Loss starring Ryan Phillippe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Rob Brown, Channing Tatum, Victor Rasuk, directed by Kimberly Peirce, already in theaters in the U.S., soon to be released in Europe.
