Mitch Hewer naked for Everyman Campaign

Everyman and Cosmopolitan have worked together for seven consecutive years on the magazines ever-popular Celebrity Naked Centrefold feature. Each June for the past six years, a group of male celebrities are featured naked to help raise awareness of male cancer to the magazines female readers. The feature has proved so popular that Cosmopolitan now runs the centrefold feature throughout the year for Everyman, with a special edition in June. This month, Mitch Hewer who plays gay character Maxxie in British Channel 4's Series Skins (see previous posts) poses naked for the Everyman Campaign.

Everyman's mission is to cross out male cancer by making everyone recognise the tell-tale signs, and understand the importance of treating them. By increasing this awareness Everyman also hope to raise money to fund life-saving research.

Mitch Hewer stars in an Unseen Skins

Skins Season 2 is about to end and it has been revealed that the original cast will be replaced by an all new lineup for next year's third series of the British E4 show. Co-creator Bryan Elsley said that as series 2 ends with the cast going off to university, it won't be possible to keep on following them and that in future, the show will operate in two year arcs with new casts. In a recent Unseen Skins episode created exclusively for the web, Maxxie (Mitch Hewer, picture), the gay teenager of the show, meets a new love-interest, James, who is both gay and a cyclist like him. Maxxie leaves him a note on his bicycle. But Sketch, who is still obsessed by Maxxie, steals the note... Watch the Unseen episode, A Cycological Romance...

Skins Season 2 arrives on E4

Skins Season 2 is to start on E4 Feb 11th at 10pm. The series centres around a group of good looking college kids in Bristol and their lives and loves. While most shows aimed at teenagers air before the watershed - and so have to soften or overlook most of the things teenagers do best - Skins unashamedly airs in a 10pm slot with a full quota of sex, drugs and electro music. The series revolves around super-cool Tony, played by an all-grown up Nicholas Hoult from About a Boy fame, and his buddies - geeky Sid, long suffering girlfriend Michelle, anorexic Cassie, drug popping Chris, musician Jal, gay dancer Maxxie (Mitch Hewer, picture above) and Anwar, who struggles between his Asian heritage and his lust for breasts. The first episode kicks off six months on from the end of series one and mainly concentrates on Maxxie, played by Mitch Hewer (picture above) - how he deals with being gay on a rough council estate and his quest to be a professional dancer. Watch 2 trailers...

Skins, starring Mike Bailey, Joseph Dempsie, Mitch Hewer, Nicholas Hoult, Hannah Murray, Dev Patel, April Pearson, Larissa Wilson on E4. You can catch online the first 15 minutes of episode 1 and find out exactly what happened to Tony and how the rest of the Skins massive have been coping. And from Feb 7th the next 15 minutes will be available nightly on MySpace.com. It’ll work something like this: Part 1 - Feb 2nd – 6th / part 2 - Feb 7th / part 3 – Feb 8th / part 4 – Feb 9th.
