UGLY BETTY
Based on the popular Colombian telenovela Yo Soy Betty La Fea, Ugly Betty is a biting comedy with plenty of heart. There are several ongoing plots, including murder, illegal immigration, infidelity, coming out, a vendetta, and death. And yes, this really is a comedy. Golden Globe winner America Ferrera (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Real Women Have Curves) stars as Betty, a whip-smart assistant at a women's magazine who is clueless when it comes to fashion. While her size 0 colleagues parade around in haute couture and stiletto heels, Betty shows up for work in her mismatched outfits, complete with thick glasses and awkward braces. The series, which made its debut during the 2006-2007 season on ABC, could've relied on physical humor for laughs. But the sharp writing and likeable cast bring the show to life. Heroes will celebrate its extraordinary domestic and international success by sending cast to 7 cities to promote the August 28 DVD and HD DVD release of Heroes season one and the beginning of its second season, announces NBC. "We are thrilled to be embarking on this exciting venture," said Tim Kring, creator and executive producer of Heroes, "the theme of Heroes has been about people from all over the planet coming together to do great things. About making the world a smaller, more inter-connected place. This tour is the embodiment of those ideals. Clearly, the show has struck a real chord with people around the world, creating a huge fan base. We're eager to visit these fans and spread the word about the show." In late August, cast members such as Santiago Cabrera (Isaac), Jack Coleman (Horn-Rimmed Glasses), Noah Gray-Cabey (Micah), Greg Grunberg (Matt), Ali Larter (Niki), James Kyson Lee (Ando), Masi Oka (Hiro), Hayden Panettiere (Claire), Sendhil Ramamurthy (Mohinder), Zachary Quinto (Sylar), Adrian Pasdar (Nathan), and Milo Ventimiglia (Peter) will continue the "Heroes World Tour" with personal appearances in various countries including the following cities: Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Munich, Paris, London and New York City, as well as further stops yet to be announced.

If you watch NBC's Heroes, you have noted that Zach (Thomas Dekker, picture), who plays Claire’s (Hayden Panettiere) friend and confidant, was more or less supposed to be gay. Well, according to After Elton who received an email from the creator of the show Tim Kring, Zach is not gay!
"I am very sorry this has caused concern for the readers of your website. It was certainly not our intention to confuse the issue of Zach’s character being gay. We have too much respect for our audience to do that intentionally. However, it has simply become too complicated behind the scenes to push this issue further with this particular character. We apologize for misleading the audience, and wish that we could have handled things better on our end. But making a TV show is often a very imprecise business. As you stated, Heroes is a big, sprawling drama and there is no reason to believe that a gay character will not be represented on our show in the future. It is my hope than we do, we do it with honesty and dignity. That will certainly be our attempt" said Tim Kring.
