Giorgio Armani has unveiled a giant mural featuring an image starring David Beckham from the new Emporio Armani Underwear advertising campaign for Autumn/Winter 2008-09 at Macy’s in San Francisco. The new advertising campaign was shot on Malibu beach in California, once again by renowned fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott (pictures above & below).

Legendary Yves Saint Laurent dies at 71

French fashion icon Yves Saint Laurent, widely hailed as one of the greatest designers of the 20th century, died Sunday in Paris. He was 71, announced his foundation, the Pierre-Berge-Saint Laurent Foundation. The reclusive French maestro, who had retired from haute couture in 2002 after four decades at the top of his trade, had been ill for some time. Saint Laurent's longtime business partner and lover Pierre Berge, hailed him as a fashion revolutionary: "Yves Saint Laurent knew perfectly well that he had transformed the world and fashion, that all the women of the world owed a debt to him in a certain way." One of a handful of designers who dominated 20th century fashion - on a par with Christian Dior, Coco Chanel and Paul Poiret - Yves Henri Donat Mathieu Saint Laurent was born in the coastal town of Oran, Algeria, on August 1, 1936, at a time when the North African country was still considered part of France. A shy, lonely, child, he became fascinated by clothes, and already had a solid portfolio of sketches when he first arrived in Paris in 1953, aged 17.

David Beckham undresses for Armani

David Beckham has unveiled his hot new look for designer label, Emporio Armani and has left little to the imagination. The full-frontal snap is the LA Galaxy star's first US advert for the Italian underwear giant, in a three-year deal purported to be worth £20 million. Looking waxed-up and glancing a look to kill, the 32-year-old posed for the black and white snap in Los Angeles, taken by star photographing duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Becks says: "I first met Mr Armani quite a few years ago while I was working with the England team when he designed our World Cup suit. I've been a big fan of his style for a long time and, through the years, my wife and I have become friends with him, so I'm happy to be working with him now." Currently the football icon also has multi-million pound deals with with Adidas, Pepsi, Motorola and perfume maker Coty.

AussieBum breaks a World Record

It's official, aussieBum revealed the world’s BIGGEST underwear, in Sydney's Royal Botanic Gardens, breaking the Guinness World Record by producing the world's largest pair of underwear. Measuring in at 15.9 metres (52.16 ft) wide and 10.55 metres (34.6 ft) high, with a waist circumference of 32 metres (105 ft), the underwear, constructed from a dazzling red Sensitive® fabric provided by leading Italian fabric firm Eurojersey, took over two months to produce.
