Jimmy Kimmel is F***ing Ben Affleck

Shortly after comedian Sarah Silverman released a video in which she sings about a "sexual relationship" with actor Matt Damon, her longtime partner Jimmy Kimmel aired his own video Sunday night. Last night, during Kimmel’s post-Oscar late-night show Jimmy Kimmel Live, he got his video revenge on ABC, along with his guest, actor Ben Affleck, who is the star of his video. Kimmel said on his show that his video is in response to Silverman's video, "I'm F***ing Matt Damon." In Kimmel's video, "I'm F***ing Ben Affleck", he softly strums his guitar and says he is "happy" for Silverman and Damon. Then he drops his bomb. Both videos star the actors, but unlike Silverman's video, Kimmel's also features a slew of other celebrities. Among the celebrities are actors Harrison Ford, Brad Pitt, Don Cheadle and Cameron Diaz, as well as rockers Joan Jett, Perry Ferrell and Pete Wentz from Chicago's Fall Out Boy. Watch the video...

One more Golden Lion for Ang Lee

Taiwanese director Ang Lee picked up his second Golden Lion for best film at the Venice film festival on Saturday for his erotic spy thriller Se, Jie (Lust, Caution). Victorious two years ago with Brokeback Mountain, which also won him an Oscar, this time Lee served up a tense drama set in Japanese-occupied Shanghai in the 1940s. Veteran US director Brian De Palma won the Silver Lion for his hard-hitting Iraq war film Redacted. The jury also bestowed a special 75th anniversary Golden Lion on legendary Italian director Bernardo Bertolucci. The Volpi Cups for Best actors went to Brad Pitt for The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford by Andrew Dominik and to Australian actress Cate Blanchett for I’m Not There by Todd Haynes. This year, the Queer Lion, a new prize for the best film that accurately portrays gay themes or characters went to Ed Radtke's coming of age film The Speed of Life and Kenneth Branagh's remake of Sleuth won a special mention. Desmond Tutu & Brad Pitt on Gay Rights

Among many celebrity contributors to the Africa issue of Vanity Fair, guest edited by Bono, Brad Pitt interviewed Archbishop Desmond Tutu, about Christianity and homosexuality: "So certainly discrimination has no place in Christianity. There's a big argument going on in America right now, on gay rights and equality," Pitt said. "For me, I couldn't ever keep quiet. I came from a situation where for a very long time people were discriminated against, made to suffer for something about which they could do nothing -their ethnicity... I could not for any part of me be able to keep quiet, because people were being penalised, ostracised, treated as if they were less than human, because of something they could do nothing to change - their sexual orientation. I can't imagine the Lord I worship, this Jesus Christ, actually concurring with the persecution of a minority. I think God is weeping. He is weeping that we should be spending so much energy, time, resources on this subject when the world is aching." The actor ended: "I couldn't agree with you more. Thank you for saying that."

Clooney & Pitt asked to save a Gay Bar

In an ad running today in the Daily Variety, George Clooney and Brad Pitt are being asked by "SaveTheBoom" to help saving a Laguna Beach Gay Bar, The Boom Boom Room. A major destination for the Southern California gay community since the 1940s, the popular Californian gay bar was sold to a Beverly Hills billionaire two years ago. At that time, Pitt & Clooney were incorrectly labeled as co-investors in the bar, whose rightful owners were planning on turning into an oceanfront hotel.
SaveTheBoom, was founded by Laguna Beach resident Fred Karger in 2006 to fight to proposed demolition of the Boom Boom Room. The ad headlines “George and Brad, Please Help SAVE the BOOM!!!” and goes on to ask the superstars, “Now we are appealing to both of you to buy our 60 year old landmark before it is converted into a boutique hotel... Both of you are true leaders in human and civil rights. Over 100 years of gay history that the Boom represents is a stake in Laguna Beach.”

Brad Pitt into Activism for Gay Marriage

Recently, Brad's been vocal about gay marriage, saying, "Angie and I will consider tying the knot when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able." Source National Ledger

Brad is also supposed (if he chooses to accept it) to replace Tom Cruise in the next Mission Impossible movie... Let's hope it's not premonitory...
