Steve Jobs takes a medical leave

Apple CEO Steve Jobs has announced his decision to take a six-month medical leave. In an email sent to Apple's employees Steve Jobs said: "I have learned that my health-related issues are more complex than I originally thought. In order to take myself out of the limelight and focus on my health, and to allow everyone at Apple to focus on delivering extraordinary products, I have decided to take a medical leave of absence until the end of June. I have asked Tim Cook to be responsible for Apple’s day to day operations, and I know he and the rest of the executive management team will do a great job." Jobs added that as CEO he will remain involved in major strategic decisions. iChatGay's team wishes him a speed recovery... Watch an ABC News video...

Apple says No On Prop 8

Apple is publicly opposing Proposition 8 and making a donation of $100,000 to the No on 8 campaign. Apple was among the first California companies to offer equal rights and benefits to its employees’ same-sex partners, and strongly believes that a person’s fundamental rights — including the right to marry — should not be affected by their sexual orientation. Apple views this as a civil rights issue, rather than just a political issue, and is therefore speaking out publicly against Proposition 8.
